York Academic Excellence Scholarship
This scholarship is available to both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants. Below are the key details you need to know.
- Funding scope: Available across all programmes at York, whether you are pursuing a three-year undergraduate degree or a one-year postgraduate programme
- Academic year: 2026/27 (commencing 2026)
- Eligibility: Subject to course-specific requirements, academic performance, and personal interview
- Application deadline: June 2026
Scholarship value
Undergraduate (UG): Students who meet the merit criteria may be awarded up to ₹3 lakhs per year towards tuition fees.
Postgraduate (PG): Students who meet the merit criteria may be awarded up to ₹4 lakhs towards tuition fees.
Note: This scholarship continues through the duration of your course provided you meet the qualifying academic criteria.
Scholarship Assessment
The scholarship is merit-based and awarded following a holistic assessment of your application. This includes:
- Academic performance aligned with programme entry requirements, demonstrating outstanding academic achievement
- Strength of your overall profile
- Performance in the personal interview
Sustaining Your Scholarship
- The scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee reduction and is applied at the start of each academic year of your programme.
- To continue receiving the scholarship, you must maintain a minimum academic score of 70% each year.
